Product Description "For anyone who needs to understand different types of life insurance, as well as considerations for purchasing and managing policies, this book should be on your nearby reference shelf. If you've frequently found yourself fumbling around with terminology, such as the differences between variable, universal, and variable universal life (VUL) policies, you'll finally see some light through the haze." - MorningstarAdvisor.com Life insurance doesn't have to be complex or intimidating. Ben Baldwin's completely revised and updated guidebook makes it clear and logical, discussing how to analyze insurance products based on their investment merits and best overall financial returns. This clear, authoritative resource for consumer insurance information covers the pros and cons of Internet purchases, techniques to use capital within a policy, the fixed premium feature, insurance for different stages of life, and the new emergence of "immediate annuities."

New Life Insurance Investment Advisor: Achieving Financial Security for You and your Family Through Today's Insurance Product June 28, 2010 Stephanie Doolan Very good summary of the products available and how to use them. Wish I would have had this book before I purchased investment grade life insurance - it would have saved me a costly mistake. As it is, the book is helping me salvage the mistake. It still remains a good tax sheltered vehicle for investment if properly used and understood.
Provides good background info February 11, 2010 Keith R. Soltis (Freehold, New Jersey) The author does a good job of providing an overview of life insurance as an investment and savings tool. He is able to communicate the benefits of owning permanent life insurance as a supplement to your financial products. However, I disagree with his strong endorsement of the variable life insurance product.
This product is one of the most complex products in the insurance industry. Its fees, costs and performance varies widely from company to company. Given the fact that you can simply borrow your permanent (whole life) insurance cash values and invest them yourself (without the sales loads) why pay twice? Overall a good read, especially for those who are not informed as to how to utilize their life insurance as a financial tool.

Indispensible Classic December 15, 2009 Walter H. Kuenstler (Pennsylvania, USA) Thank goodness there is such an authoritative source for life insurance information.

My only addition is to suggest a companion volume, John Girouard's The Ten Truths of Wealth Creation which has develped quite a buzz in the advisor universe.
